Description: After a successful first SGA 2010 in Crete, this is the follow-up joint SignSpeak/Dicta-Sign workshop within ICMI 2011 - 13th International Conference on Multimodal Interaction. Event title: SignSpeak Logo Competition - Winners
Dear all,
First of all, on behalf of the whole SignSpeak Consortium, thank you very much for participating in the competition with your designs.
A total of 17 designers have participated in the competition, some of them submitting more than one design.
The jury was formed by 12 people from SignSpeak consortium.
The winners are:

Event title: Design award: new SignSpeak logo
Event description: The SignSpeak consortium is in search of a new logo.
What is SignSpeak? It is an EC funded three-year project that aims to increase the linguistic understanding of sign languages to eventually create a software that is able to translate signing into text or speech.

Deaf people are especially encouraged to apply, as they are the ones who will be benefiting from this new technology.
The logo should be usable both in small scale (for letterheads, etc.) and in large scale (for banners, etc.); colour submissions must be supplemented by a black-and-white version.
The proposals will be rated by the SignSpeak consortium and the three best designs will be awarded € 500, € 350 and € 150 respectively.
All proposals should be emailed to info@signspeak.eu before 1st October 2010.

Event title: 4th Workshop on the Representation and Processing of Sign Languages: Corpora and Sign Language Technologies (CSLT)
Event description: Recent technological developments allow sign language researchers to create relatively large video corpora of sign language use that were unimaginable ten years ago. Several national projects are currently underway, or about to start. This workshop aims to share experiences from current and past efforts: What are the technical problems that were encountered and the solutions created, what are the linguistic decisions taken? At the same time, the workshop shall also look into the future: How can we establish standards for linguistic tagging and metadata, avoid reinventing the wheel, but instead add sign language specifics to well-established or emerging best practices from the general Language Resources community
